Title: Probux.com - Grid Advertising..
Post by SolidSnake on 27th Sep, 2013 at 1:22pm
Hello, I'd like to get some information regarding ProBux.com..

I need another traffic source for my ads page.. as I feel the-bux.net is not worth the cost
of its advertising and I'd like to replace it. If anyone is in it please provide me with these details :

How much does it cost to advertise on their grid per month?
Any idea of how many members they have?
And if anyone has tried them for advertising.. do they deliver any leads?

I'm in it. Haven't invested anything yet, since there's quite some bad rumours surrouding it, namely being from the same guys of onbux and using a very simillar script.
However, it has been online for an year now, so that counts for something.

Their grid costs $12 per month. I don't know any factual membercounts, but it's surely above 100000, considering the amount of referrals some people have.
I really can't help you with the quality of their traffic, as I've never advertised.

Fair enough.. I've read about those bad rumors and I think we've also discussed them as well..
However from an advertiser's point of view it seems interesting enough to try.

So, please PM me your ref link. Thanks! :)

I joined under you, and immediately purchased one month of advertising,
but they turned down my ad and refunded me..  [smiley=07-whaat.gif]

I left them a contact support message and hope for a good reason for it.
I checked out their T.o.S. and found no violation.. only one possible explanation..

There's someone advertising sevenclix on the ads page and the site was down
so the image was missing and cause the page to wait for the timeout and not completely load.

If that's the case, that sucks a bit.. I took the ad down now and contacted the client.
Let's see what probux staff's reply will be.

Can one banner ad make the page not load?

I got their reply.. they say that the page is not opening within a frame!?!
That's really weird as it keeps showing normally on all the other sites I've advertised it.
It seems to be an issue with chrome however.. I'm now working on fixing it..
Try to open this page with your browsers : http://frm.ptcbox.me
It contains the ads page within a frame.

I think it's fixed now. Adblock also blocks my frame.
But if I disable it the page loads normally.

That's an interesting approach.. :)
Seems to be working fine in almost all of them. I'm now waiting for their reply..

Yes, and now you have unbiased 3rd party proof.

if they still reject the ad then I suspect you must be competition to something they are doing somehow(like a similar advertiser page on the site?)

No reply so far.. I'm somehow beginning to believe that there won't be one..
Nevertheless I think I'll give them another shot now.. at the worst case I'll end up refunded again,
so that's no big deal..

As for the similar type of advertising page, I really feel there's nothing wrong in this..
After all I made it clear that I am interested in a long term advertising relationship.. plus if you consider
that all my funding will be pure profit to them (as ad grids cost practically close to nothing to them) and
will help them maintain their full site stability.. it's them that should be more interested in dealing with me
and as many others like me as possible.. it's the purpose of their site and the way to increase their profits. :)

Even if I had a PTC program that does the exact same thing to theirs, they should be glad to have me
as a partner.. PTCs should rely heavily on other PTCs to survive. Beside the fact that they can both
advertise at each other's site for better prices, they can also share their growth by attracting each
other's members.. Also when one PTC succeeds, it is a victory for the whole industry as more people
get attracted to it.

Wow. That is bizarre. Who ever thought of a PTC company that would not accept ads? And if not, then to not give you a reason. Maybe the whole site is a sham. Maybe the reason they don't accept ads is because they don't make a profit so the owner only puts up their own ads in order to make their margins. I'm trying to think like Sherlock here and boil this down to the only possible logical explanation and I admit, this one has me stumped

Ok, I finally got my reply!  :cool1

They said it's ok as my link now works fine within a frame, so I can now place my ad.
So we'll soon get to know how active this site's members are when it comes to grid clicking.

Just for the record.. what was missing from my site was a character encoding tag missing.
Chrome does not automatically pick one so it couldn't load the content within the frame.
So setting that to utf-8 manually, fixed the issue and the site loaded properly within the frame.

This is good to hear that they weren't so crazy after all. Having them reject your ad really had my head spinning. Who would do that? Good thing it was just due to a glitch. Let's hope you establish a long and successful advertising relationship with them  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Another update..

I admin they replied faster this time.. (exactly 24h)

Here is what they replied to me :

Quote:
Hello SolidSnakeGr,

This is Mark from support team.
Something beyond my reach is going on with this link.
I will forward this ticket for our development team and we will contact you soon.
I will have to ask you yo make the purchase of the ProGrid advertisement again. It will be addressed directly to our development team this time.
They will take a look and see what I am not able to see here.

Thank you for understanding and sorry for the inconvenience.

Have a nice day.

---
Sincerely,
Mark L.

Lol, looks like I've hit some hot spot.. ::)
Well, my ads page's link must be a very mysterious one, with supernatural powers.. causing weird behavior on their system..

Seriously Snake, I think I told you time and time again to drop the stealth. This is PTC business, not a secret military facility. Next time leave your cardboard box and your silencer pistol at home and maybe the system will recognize you this time.

Sorry, I just can't the emotion is so strong and the feeling so great..
Oh, and the "silencer pistol" is not just any pistol.. it's a S.O.COM!

Hands down.. my ad has finally been approved!
I'm being optimistic about it.. so let's see how this will boost my incoming visitors' numbers.

Though they don't provide any details of the traffic on their own site.. I'll track them on mine.

Ok, third time in a row, my ad is not getting approved.
I really don't understand what is wrong with my site.. :(

I've contacted their support again to get it approved. This is so frustrating.. as I have to go through the same process
(submit-get denied-contact support-get approved) every month and they don't even offer longer duration packs..

Alright.. I think there are some bad news regarding ProBux..

They had promised to release PayPal, and make it available for both payments and purchases on September 12th..
However it's still not available, there is no update and there is a massive angry mob screaming in their forum..

It definitely doesn't look well and we've seen what normally follows this case..
It's a pity because Probux has been such a great source of advertising for my site..

At least their PayPal account isn't limited, I've just checked it.
Let's hope for the best..  :dontknow

At least I cashed out $5 from there. And never invested a cent. I've been slowly building my RR, but I never truly trusted the site, due to many, many warnings regarding the connections with previous scams.

I also found it somewhat funny that they've been conveniently performing maintainance on the forum for the last couple of days.

I could use my cardboard box to infiltrate their headquarters and see what they're up to..
but I'm afraid I won't like what I'll see... so let's just let them do their thing.. :P

I just wonder what goes on in that head of theirs...

Well.. this doesn't change much about them..

After the dirt regarding them and fusebux showed up, their forum is still in a "small maintenance" that "won't take more than 48 hours" ...for the past 1 or 2 months..  [smiley=lolx.gif]

Not to mention that their PayPal account is in a similar "small maintenance" so we get the point..
Let's just stay away from the site until those 48 longest-hours-ever pass...  ;D

Their forum must be travelling extremely close to the speed of light. Therefore, time flows slower there.

So, it's even weird that the rest of the site is still here isn't it?  ;D

Not really. The discrepancy in the flow of time between the forum and the rest of the site is perfectly reasonable. It's a forum, so a lot of discussions fly around. And we all know, bad news travel really fast.  ;D
