Would anyone of us put ceiling on Direct Referrals, if we own a site?

Another reason might be that they are losing money on the fixed ads so they are trying to slow the growth of the site. If this is the case they could raise prices for the fixed ads to compensate but maybe they are afraid that a drop in ads might cause a loss of membership

News : It's developing further.

Members started posting complaints on NerdBux forum itself and there is no one to respond. Undecided

Just 2 days back I used my earnings and quit it. But I didn't expect this. The earnings were very slow with 20 RRs, so I decided to quit.

I have 36 direct some of which are very very active.. but still the earning rate is very slow..
It doesn't even cover my $5 grid I purchase there monthly..
That's why I stopped promoting it a long time ago..

Before quitting, I even asked whether I could fund the account (via payza) by sending money instead of doing through their site. Their site says 'Minimum funding is $5' but I had only $2. I just wanted to add that money too, but the admin simply said '$5 is the minimum.' (I just received this one line reply.)

I felt some rudeness there.

Well if you have some direct refs.. it could work out whenever they through out special promos and the ads page gets floaded with fixed ads.. Those days are somewhat generating some money to reach their cashouts.. But we're talking about pennies again..

I've often wondered why sites even sell fixed ads at all. They must be a pretty big gamble. Especially if your site is growing. You either risk losing money or you risk losing customers because you have to always raise your prices to compensate for the extra clickers.

That is not a risk I would like to deal with as an owner. I would prefer fixed costs to fixed ads

I think the goal of fixed ads is to have a more stable amount of ads for members to click everyday. With nothing but fixed cost ads it's more common to have a lot of ads one day and almost nothing in the others. While this isn't inherently bad, it may cause some friction with some members, namely the ones with rented referrals.

But also there is the side of the owner that hope for some members to not click some days so that they get more profits..
It's a gamble for both owner and advertiser so it should be avoided..

On another forum the NerdBux admin said this about the fixed ads promotions: "Yup, we're taking a loss on it. We know that...But it was needed to get people happy again lol"

looks like they are now facing the consequences Sad

Plus they never seem to learn, so here we go again...

...

Roll Eyes

If only 30.000 out of 300.000 members click this ad daily their cost will be :

30.000 x $0.001 x 30 days = $900 and they sell it @ $299...

Not including any referral earnings at all...
Ok, way to go TimTech.. I guess they failed the Math class at school...
Could they be trying to get their account limited?  Huh

HA!HA! Yes, that is possible. That is a great excuse for not paying members isn't it? When I ran that fixed ad back when they had 100K+ members, I was getting something like 15K clicks per day. The membership has easily double by then so this has to be a guaranteed losing ad. I can't see how they can possibly make a profit on this unless it is via banner sales and maybe signups to their own banners in the system

No matter what happens, we have a ringside seat to see what happens

Oh Boy, I haven't thought of this guy in a while: ...

Basically I'm quite sure they are delivering many more clicks these days..
My last campaign with them was back in November and they were delivering more than 35.000 hits / day with ~200.000.
Now they have 50% more members than then.. Do I hear a ticking or am I just being "ridiculous" as some say?

Here have some more fun : http://www.nerdbux.com/forum.php?topic=67657

Not only you, I too have been ridiculous  Grin (Words like "fools", "idiots", "sh*t" and this "ridiculous" have become common to forum people. They use it without actually meaning it.)

Do you have any script to detect bot hits SS? I have that doubt too on NerdBux. (This doubt is recently developed in my mind.)

No I don't have any special software for this purpose but you can track each referral's daily clicks using excel with sorting.
In PTCSolution for example all 30 referrals I had rented, clicked EVERY SINGLE DAY the same amount of ads.. 15 clicked 1 ad and 15 clicked 2 ads per day. What kind of human is active every single day of a month but only clicks 1 ad. And how often does it happen in the PTC industry to rent 30 referrals that are 100% clickers.. Smiley

I'm not sure of how referrals work on NerdBux.. never tried them and possibly never will..
I'm happy with my direct ones though I'm unhappy with the referral earnings rates.
It takes way too many referral clicks just to reach the payout..

From the stats I've seen in their forum, it's hard to get a decent profit from rented referrals, as the margins are too small. The needed averages are around 6-7ads for Premium members, and the actual averages are very close to that, somedays there are even some losses.
Because of that I never invested in rented referrals in Nerdbux.
