EgoPay - Seems like an interesting long term affiliate program
29th Sep, 2013 at 10:33pm

I haven't worked directly on promoting payment processors in the past..
But as I was checking up my egopay account I noticed that I've already got 4 referrals there..

Here are some details from their FAQ page :

Quote:
What is EgoPay’s “Affiliate Program”?
Our referral program is two level deep: On the first level you will earn 10% from the fees of the person that you referred. For instance, if someone you referred makes a transaction and the transaction fee equals to 50$, you will receive $5 for that single transaction. On the second level you earn 5% of the fee from the person that was referred by your own referral. For instance, if a person that was referred to EgoPay by your own referral makes a transaction and the transaction fee equals to 100$, you will receive $5 for that single transaction. Referral commissions are paid on the business days of 1st and 15th of each month.

Where can I find my affiliate link?
You will find your EgoPay affiliate link by going into your Profile and by selecting the Referral tab inside your account.

How can I become a referral?
To become a referral click Profile tab in your EgoPay account on the EgoPay website and then click Referral tab. After that, copy the end of your referral link and provide it to your referrals. For example, if your referral link is http://www.egopay.com/?xxxxxx then you should copy and provide: xxxxxx. Your referrals will need to click Profile tab in their EgoPay account on the EgoPay website and then click your Details tab. The next step for your referral is to enter the provided end of your referral link to the required blank: Referral link and Save changes.

When will I get my referral earnings?
We are releasing referral commissions twice a month (in the beginning and the middle of the month).

Does this work? Well, checking out my account, I already see that I have 2 referrals in tier 1 and another 2 referrals in tier 2.
And so far I've received 3 commissions that sum up to a total of $1.09 (added to my account already).

The funny thing about it is that I haven't really promoted it other than adding my referral link in bestemoneys.
It constantly receives some traffic from there leading to some sign ups.

Since there aren't any restrictions on the number of referrals or how much we can earn getting active referrals there
could prove to be very profitable as EgoPay gets more and more popular over time.

Onnce EgoPay gets more popular over time, most likely they'll end that, just like Payza did. Well, at least it's good while it lasts.

I have a better experience with Neteller's refer a friend program. I signed up under someone on EMS (I even asked for it), and that person received 16€ when I made my first deposit (max comission) and I received another 8€.
Actually, that guy was great and even gave me that his whole 16€ bonus to me.

Recently they were to stop accepting US citizens and now this?

Ok, I logged into my account today planning to use EgoPay as an alternative cashout option on PaidVerts and got this note :

Quote:
Please accept our sincerest apologies in the lack of communication and transparency. This is what has happened since end of the year (Dec 2014):
- there was a hack and that is why all the merchant related services were turned off. This happened at a time when we had a lack of personnel between Christmas and New Year
- there is talks with an outside investor who is doing due diligence.

Tickets slowed down since there were no more employees to handle it, however this is getting resolved as a new team is being assembled to handle this. The services are coming back online already along with any exploits already cut off. Please stay tuned for more news after this weekend.

This whole online economical world drives me nuts sometimes..  Smiley
