Switching to SSL

There may be some downtime happening tonight as I'm about to switch my entire domain to SSL (https://www.ptcbox.me) and this is the first time I perform this task so bare with me but it will all be back soon.. Smiley

It is done!

I have added the certificate on the PTCBox.Me domain so I will now have to switch everything to https for login pages to be more secure.

The change has been made to the forum, though the links posted within threads will still point to http but I'll figure out a way to automatically point to the https version of the page on every link.

This was a necessary step as it will help with achieving better search engine rankings, along with the benefit of a more secure environment.

To my surprise.. the adhitz code is the only insecure part of the page right now, rendering it as "not completely secure".
I've contacted them through a support ticket and will see if there is a secure option provided by them.

Well, I've received a reply from adhitz and they suggested a fix by setting their url as:

//adhitzads.com/

instead of:

http://adhitzads.com/

I've also fixed your avatars to the secure protocol (https instead of http) and the BoB banners in the signature area.

Now there are a few insecure images (http protocol) left here and there through the forum but that's not much of a big deal.

The register and login pages are fully secure which are the ones that matter as sensitive info are being sent.

In case someone is unfamiliar with what SSL does, it's supposed to encrypt your data before your browser sends that to the www.ptcbox.me server, preventing someone in between from capturing your data un-encrypted.  Smiley

Of course nothing is 100% secure but it's an additional layer of security that is necessary these days.
