Finally dumping that ISP
31st Oct, 2017 at 8:34pm

I just got sick of it and worrying about bouncing up against data caps.

So now I'll be getting unlimited data with twice the speed for half the price.

The frustrating part is that the underlying data provider is my old service provider. Apparently they are willing to sell it to other companies where those companies can still make a profit but they aren't willing to sell to their own customers for that price!  Angry

Typical mega corps. Same service, much lower costs  Dont know

This is great though. Changing over both my phone a couple months ago and now my ISP saves me over $50 per month and my benefits have increased for both. I won't miss them

Funny that capped ISP is still a thing in your country. Normally you'd think Canada, along with the US, is usually at the forefront of tech stuff.
I don't think any of the providers here in Portugal have any capped service.

The ISPs basically own the government. It goes for a lot of other industries. We are very communist when it comes to virtual monopolies in businesses in Canada. People haven't had much choice and are very complacent as a people (except in a hockey game  Smiley ). So the ISPs and others just take advantage of that.

I'll be gone soon

WOW!

This thing is sooooooo fast!  Shocked

The best thing about the internet and computers is when you upgrade and you get that speed boost (until you are used to it in a week  Grin )

You tube loads in seconds. This is mind boggling fast

now I know which sites have the slow servers  Cheesy

Oh MAN! I just turned on 4 hours of Mozart on youtube!

I am in luxuryville here!  Smiley

If I had done this with my old ISP I would have burned up 10% of my monthly allotment in a day.

time to get reacquainted with the masters....and meet a few new ones
