After many failures and redesigns from the scratch our Featured Links system is finally ready..  :phew  [smiley=12-party.gif]
It's probably one of the trickiest codes I've ever worked on..

It was supposed to be simple to implement but it's proven to be even more complicated than our banner advertising system..
That it fell so far behind schedule.. sorry for that.  :-[
Nevertheless I believe it will work fine now.. it'd better do! :P

There could possibly be bugs here and there but as always they can't be reproduced in a lab environment..
So I would like some people to help me out with the testing.

I would like each one to submit one featured link ad normally using this form.
Please only place one link each for now. I will probably ask you to place another one during the following days but for now please place only one per person.

Your link will be displayed normally and benefit from the exposure, but please keep in mind that this is just a testing phase (there's no guarantee it will stay there).

The process is similar to our banner advertising method :

1. Submit an ad (check the availability date on top of the submission form).
2. Skip the Payment page (just check out if the prices appear to be alright).
3. Click the confirmation link that you will receive on top of the automated ad confirmation email (use a real email address).
4. Note if the dates are proper in the confirmation page. (check if there are any dates like 1970-01-01 or 0000:00:00 etc..)
5. That's it.. I'll get notified for every order placed and I'll manually approve it to be placed.
Then we'll see if the system displays them correctly the next day.  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

For a detailed description on how the Featured Links will be displayed please read the instructions in the submision page.
If everything goes fine (or gets fixed in case of bugs) we will launch the system probably some time next week.

Let me know if you spot anything weird including typos as well.

I suggest you allow for a view of the ad on the payment page. It will probably save you a lot of grief. That way the person doesn't have to keep bothering you to fix the ad after they have paid for it etc.

We artists make mistakes (plus, with text color choice, people might want to play around with the final look....and I don't think you want to be stuck every time they move the furniture around).

Yes, good idea. With banner with can at least see how they look. (Even though by the time we get to preview them they have already been submited, like that bug in my last banner order).
For text ads it would also be important (especially to see how they look against your background color).

Since I'm not much of a fan of javascript.. the second option is easier to implement (!?!). :)

I just noticed all your thumbnails along the bottom of the page. Great idea. Do you get many signups from those?

Actually they are doing great!
Though it was kinda unexpected, I get a lot of signups just from those in almost all of them..
It kinda sucks too.. as I'm not an active clicker so I don't earn in most of those.. :)

Ok, I've spotted the first bug.. it was the default ad overwriting the normal ones.. so.. bug of the day fixed.
Well, now you can place a second link. Be creative with the colors.. :)

MM also had a delay in receiving his confirmation email.. maybe you should contact their support..

Ok, I'm surprised to say that the system works flawlessly so far.. :)

Unlike all my previous Featured Links development attempts that led to mass destruction this time it all seems to be working exactly as it was supposed to! I'm rather happy with it and I'm about to announce the launch probably this Sunday or the day after.. I'll keep on testing it to see that everything continues to run smooth until then.
